From Community Priorities to Data Analysis

Over the past several months, the ADSI research team and Community Advisory Board have worked together to identify early-life factors to examine in our research. With that important step completed, we are now moving more fully into the analysis.

But selecting what to study is only part of the research process. How do we use existing data to examine whether these factors may contribute to autism? What can different sources of data tell us? And how do we determine what conclusions the evidence can reasonably support?

Over the next several posts, we will take a closer look at the research strategy behind ADSI—from our use of causal inference, to what we can learn from SEED and linked Wisconsin health and birth records, to how these pieces work together.

Overview of the ADSI blog series, moving from community priorities and data analysis through causal inference, SEED, linked health and birth records, and bringing the different sources and approaches together.
This series follows our research strategy from deciding what to study to examining what different data and methods can tell us.
